Org profile & app config
This guide covers Settings → General: the Organization card, the App configuration card, OG defaults, and the Danger zone. What each app-config value does at click time is explained in Routing & fallbacks; the first-time setup walkthrough is Set up your organization.
Open the tab
Open Settings. The General tab is the default, so the four cards stack in order: Organization, App configuration, OG defaults, Danger zone. Every member can read them; each card tells you when your role can't save it.
Update the organization profile
- Edit Organization name or Contact email.
- Click Save changes. It's disabled until you edit something.
- An "Organization updated" toast confirms it, and a rename shows up everywhere the org name appears (sidebar, header), because the change syncs to your sign-in provider.
Rules the form enforces inline: the name can't be empty ("Organization name is required"), the email must be valid ("Invalid email"). A name another organization already uses is rejected with Organization with name "X" already exists.
Configure your apps
The App configuration card holds one form per platform. Each form saves independently with its own button (Save iOS config / Save Android config), and saving one platform never touches the other's values.
| Field | Platform | Required | Hint shown in the form |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bundle ID / Package name | iOS / Android | Yes | Xcode target → General → Bundle Identifier; the applicationId in your app-level build.gradle |
| Store URL | Both | Yes | Your app's page on the App Store / Google Play |
| Apple Team ID | iOS only | No | "Required for iOS universal links." The 10-character ID from the Apple Developer portal |
| SHA-256 fingerprints | Android only | No | "Required for Android app links." From keytool -list -printcert -jarfile app.apk; separate multiples with commas |
| URI scheme | Both | No | A custom scheme your app handles, like myapp:// |
| Fallback web URL | Both | No | Where users land when the app isn't installed |
Invalid values are flagged inline before saving ("Bundle ID is required", "Invalid URL"), so a save either lands or tells you why.
Two amber badges appear on the platform headings when deep linking isn't fully set up. They're informational; saving is never blocked:
| Badge | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Universal links inactive: missing Team ID | iOS links open the redirect page instead of the app; add the Team ID to fix it |
| App links inactive: missing SHA-256 fingerprint | Android taps land on the redirect page; add at least one fingerprint |
Exactly what each field enables, and what's missing without it: Routing & fallbacks.
Set default link previews
The OG defaults card sets the fallback Open Graph values for link previews: default title, description, and image URL. When a link (and its template) defines no OG values of its own, these defaults are what social platforms show. Save with Save OG defaults; an "OG defaults saved" toast confirms it. Clearing a field removes that default.
The fallback chain — link, then template, then these org defaults — is described in Link previews.
Delete the organization
The Danger zone card is the last one, and only owners see it.
- Click Delete organization…. The dialog reads: "This permanently deletes the organization with every link, template, domain, app configuration, and analytics row, and removes every member. There is no undo."
- Type the organization name exactly as shown; the delete button enables when it matches.
- Click Delete organization. You're signed out to the login page; that's the confirmation.
Deletion is refused while the org has a live subscription: "Cannot delete an organization with an active subscription — cancel the subscription first." Cancel first (see Billing & subscription), then delete.
Who can do what
| Action | Who |
|---|---|
| Read all four cards | Every member |
| Save org profile and OG defaults | Owner |
| Save app configuration | Developer and up |
| Delete the organization | Owner |
The API enforces the same limits on every endpoint behind these cards.
Troubleshooting
| What you see | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| "Owner access required to edit organization settings." | Your role is below Owner | Ask the owner |
| "Developer access required to edit app configuration." | Your role is below Developer | Ask a developer, admin, or the owner |
Organization with name "X" already exists toast | Another org uses that name | Pick a different name |
| "Invalid URL" under Store URL or OG image | The value isn't a full URL | Include the scheme, like https://… |
| "Cannot delete an organization with an active subscription — cancel the subscription first" | The org still has a live plan | Cancel from Billing, then delete |
| Error banner instead of a card's content | That read failed | Click Retry on the card |
